According to recent news, this is the area of price competition per the URLs listed below; however, as I found out, it is a mistake to assume that the major part of Dell's revenue is from individual sales. This is clearly not the case. Since only approximately 10% of revenues are derived from individual sales, their decision to forego participation in the sub $1000 PC market is afterall just common sense. They are obviously focusing on the market segments with both high growth and high revenue returns, wouldn't you agree?
