I do wonder whether the performance penalty of using this cheaper cache arrangement would have this great an effect on performance typical business apps, as opposed to CPU intensive benchmarks. I doubt it would.

Whoops, the article goes on to essentially answer this question--looks like btwn 1-2% performance loss at 300 mhz.
