Penni said it best: this isn't a forum for persuasion. One of my highest ideals is a sense of humor: not a facility with jokes, but an ability to look at adverse circumstances or (perceived as) wildly crazed opimions and smile. There are some folks with whom I drink who have opinions&values which differ a lot from my own. We've learned to keep from getting too serious about admittedly serious issues. It's how they behave when we b.s. about our beliefs that keep me engaged, and every now and then force me to taste someone else's perspective. And every now and then I get to provoke some thought with my position(s). The gentle art of not needing to persuade.
