Each Media 100 product is based on Media 100 Inc.'s Vincent 601
digital video engine, the only personal computer-based platform to
support broadcast-standard YUV color space 4:2:2 digital component

real-time editing and playback performance, JPEG 4:1 compression (150

real-time preview motion effects and real-time color effects and a

Media 100 lx delivers high-quality component output and increased
productivity with batch redigitizing, real-time waveform
monitor/vectorscope and a rack-mountable junction box. Media 100 lx

A professional real-time graphics digital video system. Media
100 xe features real-time static titling and keying of PICTs with
alpha channel, real-time 6-track CD-quality (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz)
digital audio mixing, EDL import and export and 3:1 JPEG compression
(200 kb/frame NTSC, 240 kb/frame PAL). This system is designed for

digital video effects, Gaudi integrates with Media 100 as its

Media 100's recently announced Theo superprocessor (targeted for
mid-1997 availability) will augment the Media 100 Vincent 601
architecture with additional power, quality and functionality. The
new architecture enables Media 100 to be the first
personal-computer-based digital video systems fully compliant with
the broadcast-industry standard CCIR 601 recommendation. The
extended architecture will offer 4:2:2 digital component signal
processing exclusively in the YUV color space; SMPTE-259 serial
digital input/output; user-selectable pixel displays (640 x 480, 720
x 486, 768 x 576, 720 x 576); a Movie-2 bus connector; and a second
JPEG codec for real-time, dual-stream capability, enabling
online-quality processing of transition and 3D effects.
