Quote of the week and boring stock of the week:

No beans about it, J++ is not Java.

Microsoft's Java-like language attempts to undermine Java by using proprietary syntax, there's no benefit to that whatsoever and it's clearly targeted toward undermining, not extending, Java technology. When it comes to platform-specific or domain-specific Java, that can all be achieved using class libraries, that is, without changing the development tools one iota. Java is designed to be extensible and if HP wants to compete above the standard with Sun them more power to them. There customers will want to leverage the Java resources which are out there now or underway.

Almost forgot the boring stock of the week: HUGE Java play and boring (read: not overly volatile) to boot! IBM!!!
