"Poetry, my sweet . . .?" I guess in condemning me to the further reaches, you do so with affection, at least, and that's touching because I like it better when we aren't fighting!!! I hope that's the further reaches of a nice field of heather or something, not the dark cave you keep returning people to when they have the audacity to actually try to engage you in interesting debate between equals (although I know you don't perceive them as equals, and there lies the rub, as someone said once).
Thanks for the little beginner's lesson in poetry, too. I have a degree in English, so I am not totally ignorant, but I think what we are debating once again is the dichotomy between rational and emotive expression in creative writing. You must have your dictionary out or something today!!! Not only is your writing better, but your spelling is much improved!!
I do digress on a couple of your assumptions, however. I would argue that the poetry on this thread definitely allows one's consciousness to be experienced by others. A lot of people have certainly communicated to me that this is exactly what they appreciate about the Feelings thread. And I think a lot of ultimate truths or realities are being explored over here, and people are certainly getting glimpses of realities that evoke a response in them. Reality is what each of us creates, anyway, John, not what you have dictated for the entire universe, and I'm pretty sure yours is different than mine.
Incidentally, for someone who has such disdain for all that occurs over here, you hang out a lot!!! This thread is not required reading for you, so if you elect to come over here try to be mellow. I'm sure you wouldn't want to hurt my sensitive feelings.
We are obviously online at the same time this afternoon, John darling, which brings back fond memories for me of all the time you spent talking back and forth about stocks with me before you became a sage or something. The John I like and wish stopped by for a visit more often.
