Thanks for the VIX link. I should've figured that one out, but didn't realize that it's an index just like any other. Options on it too. I guess the options are, in part, priced according to the volatility of the index itself. Sort of a circular pricing loop. Wouldn't VIX options be properly considered a derivative? Thanks again.
