Ministry....

ME

YOU

Stephen:

Each of us has the power to change the world.

What you or I or anyone have done in the past is immaterial.

If you are looking for evidence to judge you are missing the point. Mankind is constantly looking for evidence of light in the darkness to weigh/consider/lean on/judge/use/take etc.

Our individual and collective fears create the darkness to begin with. And our constant striving for proof through the exercise of our personal judgment and powers of logic and rational thought gets us in these constant "me/us vs. him/her/them" pissing matches which are nothing but expressions of fear and which only exacerbate feelings of fear.

What are we fearful of?

We are fearful of using, exercising and claiming our full power, light, glory and energy which we once had when we were children.

Why?

Because the world has continually beaten into us this drumbeat of "NO" which assigned limits, restrictions, boundaries of pies which we are told can only be "limited", are "acceptable", "correct", "Ok", etc.

Trying to keep up with all these changing limits, restrictions, boundaries and measures of what's "right, wrong, good, bad, correct, acceptable, etc." takes the focus of value and energy away from our heart and soul to something outside of ourselves which, unfortunately/unwittingly and unknowingly, we assign value to which eventually works to control us.

What is this "something outside of ourselves??"

It's nothing but the confusing, twisted tapestry and construct of our individual and collective fears.

The more we fear, the less we trust, the more we "give up" our energy to others or things outside of ourselves.

And anytime we give up this energy our ego is winning the war against our unlimited/selfless/timeless/loving inner nature which we all naturally are blessed with.

And once we "give up" our energy by withdrawing trust or assigning meaning/value to something outside of ourselves our ego just as quickly has to fight, be fearful and be angry over the need to "self justify/rationalize" our choice to limit/restrict/label/disempower our unlimited/unrestricted/free/loving inner/core nature/being.

So, naturally, when we fear something which is outside of ourselves we need to gather an individual or other individuals who share the same fear who will judge, assign and approve them as so we can feel part of or accepted by this broad mix of negative, angry, depressing, envious mix of energies and attitudes that always seem to draw away energy from either ourselves or others.

If we are in a clique that assigns blame or places any/all superiority over others in any way we need to keep coming up with grist for the mill which justifies and defines how we are separated from others - being "better than", "poorer than", "richer than", etc.

When I came to Northwestern University I walked on their football team, joined a fraturnity, etc. Very quickly I learned that these paradigms while all fine and well were actually not healthy for where I wanted to be on a personal level from a short and longer term perspective. I just didn't have the time, fire and energy to want to "play the game" the way I had played it before. There was a different beat which I discovered that was the beginning of my personal transformation in life even if it embarked me on a long road of pain, doubt and self-discovery.

Three years later with my energy riding "sky-high" I had this wild idea to walk back on the football team right as double sessions were beginning. I lobbied and spoke to the players, coaches and altheletic director about my desire and even pointed the finger at the individual who I considered to be the "black hole" which was dragging the team down. In the end they didn't let me back on the team and I ended up in a fight with this individual.

NU won their first home game that season and then went on to set the all-time NCAA losing streak reacord for the next 4+ years.

These personal feelings and desires may seem wacky, but I have lived my own out with a lot of drama and color throughout my life. I have more stories about more people that are so funny not for what happens to others, but for what happened to me. My life has been life Forest Gump, fully of incredible events and stories and people, experiences, etc.

This is how all our lives should be - full of risk, excitement and wonder. And I'm not here to claim or prove to you or anyone else why "I" think I am this or that.

I am here to share, help and serve.

So let me ask you the $64 question: what can you and I do to help/serve someone else in this world?

Forget about me.

Let's put the focus OUTSIDE of "you" and "I". For what "you" and "I" say/do doesn't matter anyway unless we are helping and serving others in some way/shape or form.

This kind of "living" is really exciting. "Loving" is pure risk. With no expectation of getting anything back, period.

I'm not fearful Stephen.

Life is a personal ministery.

Let's do something!

Peace.

............

you fill in the blank.
