Also Dale, the big myth is that it is all an education problem, and that people just need to be "retrained". Nothing could be further from the truth.

This is as much a lie as the entire Iraq mess was (and is.)

As I posted, "Fast Company" this month lays out the real story on the IT industry implosion going on. Many stories of companies bringing in 20 or so people from India, firing entire US IT departments, and then ordering the ones left to train their new Indian replacements. The rest of the US IT workers are then fired. The new Indian workers go back to India (many were lied to by the US companies - and told that the US workers would be getting better jobs - not true...)

These Indian workers are now doing the jobs of entire depts. This is happening all over the US.

I reject the notion that we can do nothing about this. The loss of this industry will mean sacrificing future US innovation and products, while we freely transfer this knowledge and work abroad.

We have spent too much in the US to fund this research and knowledge - billions in our universities, to just say it doesn't matter now - and let it go.

Please read the "Fast Company" article this month - for everyone here - and comment.

Thanks,
t
