How does all this impinge on your psyche with your knowledge and righteous condemnation of violence in India. In Texas, a white supremacist has been convicted and sentenced to death for dragging a black man to death. In India, hundreds of minorities were killed in the Bombay riots of 1992 (and many more have been killed in various parts of the country since), and the guilty are still walking around as free men. And more importantly, there is no dearth of apologists for these criminals, even among the so-called educated people of India. There's the difference between the two, and I would say the difference is significant. Or are you a "no-deposit-no-return" (throw-away) pessimist when it comes to India. The question of optimism or pessimism doesn't arise. I am just mighty "bearish" when it comes to India. And with good reason.
