The lefty loonies have to go or, at least, be put back in the closet.. Who's going to do it?

Our left is based on the Populism of the 1870s, the "Eastern Capitalists controlling the little guys," which is cored by Marxism. Everytime you hear the left go off, the ideas are Marxist ones.

They still tend to spout Marxist economics, but they know this has been discredited. But they devoutly believe in the social ideas. And they can still sell these.

To generalize:

The right believes in Capitalist economics, and is split on the social issues.

The left believes in social reform, and is split on Capitalist economics.

Pacifism is a separate issue that tends to be almost totally found among the left.

The worst political mistake those on the right can make is to go back to the cold war days of calling the left "Communist" and "socialist." Makes us sound too "McCarthy" and "John Birch." Better to attack it as "central planning" or "command economy."

The left needs a leader that can use a different language to sell their social programs. Clinton was good, but flawed. And no one came behind him who had his command of selling it.
