OT OT OT OT OT... and by the way, GO DELL!
Sorry to harp on this point, people but I was asked about this and I want to clarify.
First of all, I read in an article about SI that they get a huge number of complaints every day. So they have to handle them somehow.
In my case, I was arguing with someone on a coffee shop thread. She complained about me for behavior she was also guilty of herself. Nothing major btw, if you ever visit a coffee shop political thread, you know, "youre a stupid fool" - stuff like that. Both she and I received warnings then from SI to stop - not the outcome she intended Im sure, thats how rediculous this was. The warning says "please refrain from personal attacks" or something like that. The important point here is that I chose to interpret what I thought a personal attack was, based on the content in that thread. And, I continued on my merry way, calling her a right wing zealot and other amusing things, thinking I was ok because that was the tone of the thread. This is not correct. I was wrong there and thats why I was suspended. Im not trying to say SI policies are incorrect or anything of the sort.
However, my point which I think is valid is that if you receive one of these warnings from SI, take a look at the party involved and decide if this issue is worth it to you. In my case, I jeopardized my investments based on some complaint from some individual that I dont care about on a thread that was purely entertainment to me. You should just walk away if you get one of these warnings from SI mgmt, is my point.
And for those of you that have sent messages to SI complaining about another individual, please ask yourself if having that person (or their posts) removed is really the outcome you are trying to achieve?
