I don't know about 2010 demographic projections, but what surprises me in this election is that if 70,000 votes shifted to Kerry in Ohio, he would have won the election, even though he lost the popular vote by some 3 million votes. This tells me that in this election the Democrats exploited the EC much better than the Republicans. I don't see any discussion of this little detail, which, IMO, exposes the serious flaws of the current EC system.
