Pravin, re: I thought that HP had stopped using the K6-2 some time back (???). I was in Frys in Wilsonville, Oregon today and saw an HP 500 Mhz K6-2 desktop system (HP 6640C, or some such thing). Did HP have these all along, or did I see a model being displayed before its announcement?

Here is the link to HP Pavilion 6640C PC (uses K6-2 500MHz)
hppavilion.com

They have this listed on their web site for a very long time (the first time I saw this on their web site was in early Dec'99). Based on lack of any advertisements of this model here, I assumed that this model has been designated to foreign markets.
