Rambi.....
>>I had to go back and reread my post to you to see where you possibly could have gotten the idea that I was mad or judging you, for I in the writing was aware of feeling neither!
Perhaps you enjoy this belief that you are making people mad? I said I was aggravated and perplexed at the exchange. It had nothing to do with YOU, for I don't know you, but there is a certain resonance of the 60s in your "philosophy" that me smile.>>
No I don't enjoy "making people mad" but this happy approach to life tends to aggravate. But these feelings and interchanges tend to sharpen knives - we each learn from the little sparks - rays of light/hope/truth - that fly off the wheel as we focus from each personal filter/point of view, etc.
I appreciate this process, but I'm not drawn in from a ego perspective. I feel like a little kid learning something for the first time.
From my own walk through life, as we "grow up" our focus narrows, that fluid/intuitive 360 degree sense of awareness fades, we become more risk averse and that childlike innocence and sparkle dims. It's as if we grow our own sets of blinders and filters which are framed by the pain and hurt - from labels, fights, limits and restrictions - which we unconsciously and unknowingly accept when we pull back our trust from the world. The more I distrusted the more I gave up my energy to something that hurt me in some way - big or small.
So when we share these words, ideas and feelings, what's more important are the sparks that lighten up an otherswise dark room from the sparks flying over each knife sharpened. The knife sharpeners are wearing their filters and goggles which contain their perceptions, frame their experience while protecting them from the sparks and flying debris.
I just believe these knives don't really exist. But we put a lot of thought and energy into making them real.
>>Perhaps I'm suffering, former flower child that I am, from the bias of having been exposed to too much "I'm OK, You're OK" 60s and 70s pop psychology. My alarms go off when people talk a great deal about love love love and yet seem to believe that only they have arrived at the source, the meaning, and the correct response. The "light" goes by many names and is found in many places and I would think that that answers are very individual.>>
You bet!
Period. Done.
>>Regarding avoiding one's voice.. I was not advocating this at all. There is a huge difference between genuine, often painful, self-examination and the comfort of knowing oneself, and the sort of maudlin I Gotta Be Me emoting that passes for introspection today.>>
So what?
What I think, you think, others think doesn't matter. It's what we do to share, help and serve.
Ok, ok roll your eyes for you have "been there...done that, etc."
I appreciate the historical reference for I interact with a lot of former 60's flower/radical types on a daily basis. And there seems to be a sense that the central theme or aim of that social revolution nursed a foundational core bitterness against authority and rules which paved the way for all this "new" stuff - including the net, etc. - but also went to the other extreme in it's desire to cause pain and pay back those who have fought them along the way.
>>I don't mean this to necessarily refer to you--as I said, I don't know you and you seem like a genuinely nice person--but it is so often the case that people who write and talk about how much good they do, or how much love they spread, or how happy they are, don't and aren't.>>
I understand.
Why talk?
Why write?
Why all this sharing?
What's the point?
Forgive me for being long-winded again, but here goes.
The point is that if you really feel an urge to write, share, risk, help and serve then "do something!" This is purely an example of "in the moment" inspirational energy. It's there inside each and every one of us to tap into, but we must freely and openly share this energy, light and love with others.
For if we don't risk sharing it we are doing something else - gathering, structuring, planning, processing it for some other purpose.
I just believe mankind is moving into a massive New Age where a massive awakening of knowledge and learning is happening all around us. Going forward, knowledge will not be put on a pedestal, withheld, processed or controlled. For thanks to the net - which was inspire in the middle of a black hole of fear to help warn us of attack - mankind has found a way to completely "free up" the control of all data and information (internet protocol) - the control of which used to be considered the founding basis for all knowledge.
I just believe there's an awakening where more and more people are beginning to realize that ANYONE can find/share/grow the world's knowledge pie by creating, risking, sharing and growing their own pies which may encourage others to do the same.
Academia has hide behind hallowed halls of fear and respectability for too long. The internet's energy is sending new music into the hearts and souls of individuals like you and I and others - encouraging a process of "opening up" risking, sharing, serving and learning from one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one.
This thread is a thriving example of community and it is creating knowledge which leads to wisdom and mastery. The individuals who expose, risk and humble themselves the most fall lower and lower in the pyramid of service which is simply an inverted pyramid:
data information knowledge wisdom mastery
The net places us all on an equal plane on top of this inverted pyramid. The extent to which any of us "let go" and fall lower and lower into the layers of increasing knowledge, wisdom and mastery is guided by the extent to which we are selflessly serving, giving, radiating energy and love to others above.
The world as we have known it doesn't follow this model of service. It believes in a model of business, power and politics which is a typical pyramid (not inverted) with the following layers:
power politics information data
Traditional "business" models place customers on a subservient position - hence the term "own the customer" - and simply monitize the trust created by employees hired to "do a job" period.
Again, sorry for the long winded reply.
But we are going through an incredible time of massive, massive transformation. This thread is not "owned" by anyone. It's FREE and open. The only limits are those any visitors impose on themselves.
Peace.

Note: You guys should be happy for noticed I have dropped the "GO." Just know that ......... will always refer to that. |
