a great travesty IMHO Yeah. In science there is definitely a pecking order with those who grasp the bigger picture and can synthesis the fundamental rules or laws being considered in a different league from those who are merely great lab techs. A similar thing happened with the discovery of the electron, some German (forget who) did a better job of the tech work, but failed to understand what he was looking at, while JJ Thompson said Ah Ha, I KNOW what I'm looking at in this data (he did is own, but it was of poorer quality).
