Dipy:
What is happening with your friends in Pakistan? They seem to like the military rule and dancing in the streets at the demise of democracy. Mind you, democracy in Pakistan was always an euphemism for feudal feuds. The one who steals the most gets jailed, killed, replaced, or exiled by the next one who wants to better / best the last person. That is sum of democracy in Pakistan. One well-known pakistani poet, Faiz Ahmad Faiz says "My great fear is that nothing will happen. Things will go the way they are".
People of pakistan are so fed up with looting feudal Lords, that they say that military rule is better any day.

Guess, What is the most important and principal export from Pakistan? Its best and brightest, the people. All that are left are the looters, morons, the wretched poor, the filthy rich and the military. Only 15% of the voting age vote in the elections. And you make of fun of Indian elections in Kashmir. Most of the votes are bought and the elections are rigged. This is what you call as a democratic process in pakistan.
3/4s of money Pakistan receives from IMF goes back to IMF as IOUs. $1.4 billion left in the kitty will last only for 3 weeks of imports. Hope they will accept some food aid from india, otherwise they may have to eat grass, in the word of dear departed Bhutto.
