A classic type of promotion involves obtaining rights to overworked ground guaranteed to produce some grades. These results together with a promotion campaign can work wonders in the price. Extensive drill programs can be conducted on ground which has previously been shown to be uneconomic. A good example of this would be YSG. Vancouver is a recognized risk in most capital markets and perpetual promotion machines are everywhere. Recent articles in Canadian newspapers point out the high mortality rate among VSE promoters.
