MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 8, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NasdaqGS:CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., and its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., obtained satellite communications equipment orders totaling $19.1 million from a United States prime government contractor. The equipment is for follow-on procurements for the Ground Multi-Band Terminal program, and will be utilized to expand an existing military network.
The order for Comtech EF Data equipment specified the DMD2050 Satellite Ground Station Modem. The DMD2050 is based on the MIL-STD-188-165A standard and covers data rates up to 52 Mbps. Offering flexibility and performance, the modem provides a range of hardware, software and data interface options, and can be switched between 70/140 MHz operation and L-Band without requiring configuration changes. The DMD2050 Satellite Ground Station Modem is ideal for voice, data and video military communications. |
