<can you tell me how to calculate them?>
Maximum Adverse Excursion(MAE) = Min((L - entry price {for long}, barssince(entry=1))
Maximum Favorable Excursion (MFE) = Max((H - entry price {for long}, barssince(entry=1))
These were originally proposed by an editor of TASC (can't remember the name).

Thank you. That makes me feel that I am not talking to my screen. Hope it can serve the investment community on the net. Also, I hope that I can improve my systematic trading by putting down my thoughts. I emphasize on psychology, money management, and a combined analysis of fundamentals and technicals. The fancy technical indicators may be the least important in trading success. By the end of Sept., I just could not resist and started my recommendation of stocks in BTK sector. My initial entry to AFFX turned out to be a little early. But I bought in again at below 15 that turned out to be the exact near-term swing low. (Average down is not a recommended strategy but if used properly, it's the best P/R trades that I can make in the market).

How is your BP project? I plan to devote my time to trade automation and will very likely to start to learn easylanguage although it's not easy for me. (I got my superchart about 7 years ago and never had courage to learn it). It's interesting when we look back that the investment softwares have evolved from quote package to charting to backtesting to portfolio analysis to trade automation.
