Janice, I don't think anybody said they would try to call Rudy at Keyes (the realtor), but just a WOOD contact. Since I'm closeby (WOOD) I could suggest I pay a little visit. There are many "interesting" companies in FL as you said, and I have done this many times. The Gables (FL) and Keyes are very familiar to me. As investors, if possible, a visit, interview, or annual meeting can be part and parcel of one's DD. I'm happy with my 500% profit here and I've taken it, but I'm curious what's behind all this hoopla. A questions I've had about selling herbs over the Net is the recent labeling news from the FDA regarding this issue.
The Brazilian land is another hazy issue. Capital has been flying out of Brazil as fast as possible so I can't see that the land is any type of inflation hedge since all the real money wants to get offshore, mostly into $'s. So in a way it makes sense that an owner of a Brazilian asset would want to seek a buyer offshore rather than domestically.
But WOOD states that its mission is part philanthropic and part environmental, so how can they just give the sale of all the land they want to protect to a Miami realtor without placing certain conditions and restrictions on the prospective buyers?
