Collectible Concepts GP Signs Agreement With Fox for Licensing and Merchandising
DOYLESTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 2001--Collectible Concepts Group, Inc. (OTC:CCGR news) announced today that the Company has signed a License Agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising (Fox L&M) to create a variety of new merchandise for the studio's Summer 2001 event release of Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES.

Acclaimed director Tim Burton, the visionary behind such films as ``Batman'', ``Sleepy Hollow'', ``Beetlejuice'' and ``Men In Black'' and five-time Academy Award winner Rick Baker bring the complete reinvention of PLANET OF THE APES to theatres nationwide on July 27, 2001.

``Collectible Concepts is very excited to have partnered with Fox to create and produce products inspired by this film,'' stated Paul S. Lipschutz, CEO of Collectible Concepts Group, Inc. ``The addition of the PLANET OF THE APES License to its portfolio is one more prestigious License that CCGR has added to its list of high profile properties and another example of the respect the Company has garnered for its creative expertise and marketing capabilities from the entertainment industry.''

``The Company is not predicting the potential merchandise sales which can be expected from this license,'' stated Lipschutz. ``The original 1968 incarnation, PLANET OF THE APES spawned four sequels; two television series and over US$100 Million in merchandise sales.''

``Collectible Concepts Group will be creating and marketing wall scrolls, unique desktop collectibles, collector pins (with a scroll designed to hold the pins), and window clings specifically for this PLANT OF THE APES movie,'' stated Ted Patton, National Sales Director for CCGR, ``which already has a vast audience from the sequels and television series which are quite interested in PLANT OF THE APES memorabilia. The Company already has plans underway to expand its existing marketing base to include new sales groups and major chain stores seeking these products in response to anticipated consumer demand.''

Headquartered in historic Doylestown, Bucks County, Pa., Collectible Concepts Group, Inc. develops and markets unique licensed entertainment, sports, and music collectible merchandise for mass retail and online distribution. See Collectible Concept Group's corporate website for more information: www.collectibleconcepts.com.

Director Tim Burton's (Batman) PLANET OF THE APES begins with premise of Pierre Boulle's classic science fiction novel: A pilot crash lands on a strange planet and finds himself in a brutal, primal place where apes are in charge and humans scavenge for subsistence, hunted and enslaved by the tyrannical primates.

However, Burton's unique personal vision and style break new ground in story, design, makeup and visual effects. PLANET OF THE APES hits theatres nationwide on July 27, 2001.

Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, along with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, comprise the retail-oriented strategic alliance of Fox Consumer Products.
