In the CC management indicated that they were trying to build up a reserve via deferring a greater portion of revenues into the future. My understanding is this is exactly what MSFT does to both smooth out the earnings bumps, while at the same time delaying payment of income taxes and at the very least earn interest on the difference.

I felt like ITWO was holding back alot in the CC, and think the comments were designed to let the investors listening "in on the secret" without overtly saying they were taking conservative accounting steps.
