I looked at a 36" WEGA TV at a local retailer and was not very impressed by the stability of the image. Maybe it was a bad sample, but I would suggest you try this. Look at an image as it changes from dark to bright, and see what happens (you can have the channel graphic on to help in the process). The image contracts and expands with a change in brightness. This does not happen in most high end computer monitors (but does in budget ones), and is a sign of a poor or poorly regulated power supply if I remember correctly.
