David, I won't say that volume has NOTHING to do with it, except that it may make jittery traders want to dump when they see volume dry up, but mostly I think you'll find that it's more a matter of supply and demand. I've even seen plenty of times prices of stock go up thru several days when distribution is the major trades of the day. those are times when your market is in the sole hands of the MM, and theres nothing that anyone can do about it. I think that Reason will find that out very soon. In NASDQ stocks, your best bet is just to follow the trend.
