This development makes possible higher performance portable computers that draw less battery power and are lighter and easier to carry around. Smaller is better, and any technology that reduces the amount of desk space or pocket space needed is going to do well. I was in Costco today, and I saw a Compaq computer with a 15" flat panel monitor, a MUCH-reduced in size CPU and small speakers for $1799. Only the keyboard looked like it hadn't been "shrunk". I, for one, am tired of bulky equipment taking up half of my spare room space.
