No, it really wasn't any better then.

Yes, it was much better 20 years ago. Mail came on time and to the right address. These days you're lucky if you get 90% of your mail. And its not unusual to have the mailman come at 7 PM at nite.

Rs have seriously messed up the postal service. And from what I understand, they have done a number on Social Security as well. Probably other gov't agencies as well. Starting with Reagan who created a major surge in homeless in this country, the right has worked diligently to undermine the well being of this country.
