If you gotta pay for the facilities, you might as well get the revenues undiluted.

CMCSA has other revenues streams that can be generated from broadband cable; ATHM is just one of those sources of revenue, so they still have every incentive to upgrade.

You still haven't stated what this sharing concept is. "Shareholders are doing it all the time"? Just who is sharing what with whom?

Many shareholders are sharing their equity, through the grant/use of employee stock options and other incentives, with the employees of the companies in which they are shareholders. Barring market risk, if the employees perform well, the company performs well; shareholders are happy, employees are happy. T could share in the economic benefits of ATHM if T had to do so to keep certain members of the venture. Of course, the extent to which T can concede depends on what the others must give up in return and would likely to be subject to intense negotiations.

You deserve what you call condescension if you don't explain what you mean.

Interesting comment, considering you still have not provided us with any viable alternative potential suitors/consortia for UMG, despite your mention that they exist (in a previous post) AND despite several requests. So which potential suitors were you referring to?
