SOX closes at 548.34. Looks like we need a more rapid descent in order to get a bounce. I just don't see it happening without a more violent sell off. On the plus side I have noticed much more interest in the market lately. This thread hit the top of the hot list yesterday. Also I am seeing more hits at other investment sites. There is lots of money uncommitted on the sidelines waiting for a reason to use it. More from Briefing.com on various semiconductors below. All above are my own opinions.

2:19PM ASM Intl N.V. (ASMI) 19.10 +1.82: Hearing from sources at Wit SoundView that the firm upgraded ASMI this afternoon to STRONG BUY from Buy; cites the company's low-k dielectic transitions and 300mm leverage; anticipates order improvement this qtr.

2:01PM Transmeta (TMTA) 3.21 +0.33 (+11.5%): Managing a bounce as distribution appears to have temporarily subsided. Traders will be watching resistance in the $3.32 area for next several days for signs of a breakout.

1:33PM NVIDIA Corp (NVDA) 70.79 +2.99 (+4.4%): -- Technical -- Momentum favorite edging back toward the morning high after drifting for several hours. Key support at 70/69.7 intact will remain positioned for upticks. Next resistance is at today's high 71.18 followed by 71.50 and 72.20.
