Like most he assumes that it is the MM's who WRITE the preponderance of calls. Actually I write a lot of them myself. I would imagine which way a stock is moved by the option boys depends which way there book of options is skewed which depends I am sure on some very complex computer programs that endeavor to fully hedge their position most of the time or at least minimize their risk. They are not necessarily long or short at any time but no doubt try and push the market to their greatest advantage.
