The group achieved profitability during the first quarter of 2001 and plans are under foot to expand production to more than 3 million tons of gravel per year by the end of 2002. Global is in the final stages of a feasibility study on a kimberlite pipe that is near the De Beers kimberlite pipe that has yielded most of the 100+ carat diamonds ever produced. In addition a number of merger and acquisition targets have been identified which could lead to significant future growth.
