We are too. But since my health problems I have been sorta lax about staying behind my husband. But, I can just let it go so long before it gets on my nerves. Somehow, my husband does not understand the organization of putting things back when you take them from where they belong. He thinks they should be at his finger tips when he wants them and thus he is surrounded by things.

I have some collections and I have quit collecting them as I have no more room to put them. Don't want to sell them as the kids have made remarks they want certain things so I keep them in a glass case so don't have to dust them.

I just never dreamed we would accumulate all this stuff. Even hate to think about how much money was invested in them. Some things might be worth a lot, one never knows. It is time to get the camera out to do an inventory again for fire purposes.

I thought about that when my husband set off the fire alarm the other morning walking out of the bedroom just after lighting his pipe. We got a call from our neighborhood police service that it had received the fire alarm and the fire department was on the way. I asked "Can they be stopped". He said "No" so here they come sirens blasting away just before nine. I was still in bed and he was just leaving the house when they arrived. He told them what happened but they said they had to come in to see about the smoke alarm, which still showed it was running and they had to reset it. They told him he would have no trouble getting out of the driveway because the fire truck was stopping traffic. It was just like a bad hair day for me. Had to take them to the alarm box so they could reset it. Had four firemen plus the fire chief in our house at one time. Good thing is they were here in about five minutes so gave me faith if it had been a fire they probably could have contained it quickly. House is brick with plaster walls on metal lathe inside if I am saying that right. Do have a fire wall between the dining room and kitchen which would help with a major kitchen fire. I am wondering now what they will charge us for that false alarm call, if they do. Five firemen with one staying out with the truck, a fire engine and fire chief and a false alarm call. Ouch, that could be a big bill.
