Oh, joy! I love to think of that crowd rattling their teacups as they wait for the axe. I would bet that even at half the present staff they would have more people than they need.


I am praying that the British government can take the obvious and elegant revenge on the Beeb when its license comes up for renewal - make the Beeb tax voluntary. If you want it, you pay, if not, not. Wouldn't that be wildly popular? The Beeb becomes a cable package like any other (the technology is certainly available to make it happen) and has to worry about customer satisfaction.
