The management of S3 doesn't seem to be worried, judging from their public statements. They think that the Intel/Lockheed/Cirrus effort will have a hard time keeping up with changes in the fast paced graphics field. This is much different from the motherboard chip-set business that Intel efectively appropriated when it went to making it's own chip-sets and motherboards. However, the rampant insider selling, albeit at a much higher price than is currently the case, doesn't say that S3 management is confident that their own stock is bulletproof. I think that S3 is a very strong buy at current price levels and it should do extremely well over the next six months. I'll reserve judgment for the stock futher out for when the company provides some details about their "revolutionary" new graphics technology as hinted at in recent trade press interviews.
