Heavens, maybe that was what they did in those years. My Dad liked cold toast, warmed up, poured warm milk and pat of butter with S&P on the top.... But then again, he liked cold Cream of Wheat, sliced up, fried in a bit of butter, and put syrup on top as a snack... His kids just looked on and promised not to look so we wouldn't barf.... I agree~~ yuccckkk!
