Firewire is a very high speed communication protocol. I think radius showed a firewire dvd type thing. look at the macweek site for more accurate details.
New Macs (8600/9600 and new low end models) will probably be announced about the middle-end of Feb. Look for big drops in prices of 8500 ( of around $400) and other current models in about three weeks.
