As I said, I don't know the legal status of commercial databases. Fill me in on that and I could give you an opinion on what would merit a warrant and what wouldn't.

Face it, most of us don't know how much information is out there about us that companies buy every day. It opens a question about what you can call "public privacy" - if you do something out in the open, can it be protected from scrutiny? Should it be?

I will keep weaving and ducking until I have more information and ponder this further.
