It is NOT ugly. It is BEAUTIFUL, though I admit it'd have looked better with twin headlights. But cars didn't have 'em back then. Apart from that, it wouldn't look so odd even today, though I suppose it'd be perceived (at least in Europe) as rather large. Though Ferraris and Maseratis ain't exactly tiny.
