Well, Christine, you won't get much argument out of me with that. I agree that's how it works and how it got there! Seems we have more in common than I really do with the wild Amazonian new woman penni. She was such a laugh, firing her CAPSLOCKS around the place that I had to respond in kind.

I hope nobody takes me seriously and makes the mistake of thinking that penni's mania is actually exciting to me or anything. But let's face it, her brief story was just wonderful. Like so much of what she writes.

Okay, I reckon that you are right that women are the nurturers and guys the buffalo killers [and other guy killers too!!]. But the modern world is changing it REALLY fast. Those roles are being rapidly submerged in the megalopolis and people are floundering around to construct workable ways of being. How DO you interact with the opposite sex to have a completely satisfying life which works for everyone.

It is all very difficult. A man and woman simply hanging out in a house together day after day is not the answer. That leads to problems pretty quickly. Is a golf course a surrogate hunting ground?
Should there be men's hangouts and womens and children's?

All very messy and difficult. Roles and ways of life. But being in touch with emotions provides a guide all right!

Maurice.

Oh and Delbert, I just read your post when I posted this. Great poem and I loved the reference to that turkey Galt. Now that Thanksgiving is over, he might not be around!!! He doesn't like blue collars though! John has a peculiar sense of self which might even include him having a special kind of DNA which distinguishes him as a separate species from mere "blue collars".

In case John Galt is still alive, here is a poem for him:

JOHN GALT IS ABSURD;
A TURD.
