i've been telling people around here for years that housing prices will crash... they just gave me blank stares, like when i kept saying, 'msft is the best of a bad bunch.'

in 1996 i wrote, 'something from nothing:'

Put your money down with the wise men, fools, and clowns
Pretend that you can get something for nothing
Like every other pipe dream based outside of reality
This bubble will one day also burst

Try and pull yourself up by your bootstraps
See if it gives you anything other than a badly chapped ass
Try to build a perpetual motion machine
See if the kickstart consumes most everything

Print your paper money to some of us it’s funny
Back these dollar bills with ledger sheets
Back them with nothing more than the full faith and credit of the treasury
Something tells me this is just another pyramid scheme

Stand upon the ground never smile and never frown

Take a tablet to calm your tummy
Eat a pizza and call it yummy

They call you on the phone when you’re at home alone

And that everything should be free and there will be no strife
