I remember that there were reservations about that law from some choicers out of concern it would trigger a slippery slope but they were a token, mostly.

A protest of the law or prosecution is one thing. I can't imagine anyone far enough out there to participate in getting an actual murderer off as an extension of choice. There's no logic there. And it sure would be a stupid strategy. Sort of like illegally marrying a bunch of gays. Sure to backfire.
