Tesla is way ahead of everyone else and may be able to do better. Musk has suggested he may do it. We'll see.

You won't see real commercial applications anytime soon. Maybe 5-10 years from now.

I think we'll see a transition to LNG/CNG for most commercial applications before anyone can product feasible electrics. Most businesses won't be sucked in by cost prohibitive arrangements (the early FedEx truck, IIRC, required an 80kwH battery, the replacement of which would itself cost far more than the savings it could produce over its lifetime).

So, no, I'm not kidding. They're just not ready for prime time. One day maybe.
