I, too, thought it was hardware related and was prepared to shell out whatever it took to keep this laptop working.

I half expected him to at least open up the case, if for no other reason than to clear out what I thought would be a massive amount of cat hair.

I didn't watch what he did (wish I had) but it only took him about an hour and a half.

I will get in touch with him and ask him what he did.
