she wasn't "praising" OBL. She was stating a fact. OBL and organizations like HAMAS and Hezbollah ingratiate themselves with social activism. They have been terribly successful doing so. Where's the beef?

The funny thing is that Afghanistan hardly attained any economic success during the rule of the Taliban or from Bin Laden's presence..

Any financial and economic support was strictly limited to that which would enhance his own power in the country...

No different than the way the "cocaine cowboys" used to build zoos and other housing projects in Medellin, Colombia..

But you're absolutely right in pointing out that groups like Hamas and the Moslem Brotherhood recognize that the way to build a dedicated and loyal following is to provide better services than the official government..

Thus, this becomes an issue of how aid must be dispensed.. The US and international community must make sure that aid is delivered only through official government mechanisms so that the authority of the regional leaders is undermined.
