OT Boy oh boy, I couldn'y resist this one. Camaraderie is actually a french word. No diminutive - letter for letter. It means Familiarity, understanding, solidarity between "camarades" (french for comrads). Comrad decends from the same french word - "camarade", meaning brother in arms originally, but now generally accepted as meaning friends having the same goals.
