[Amati and USRX:]

<<<All the senerios I have read on the ADSL threads seem to completely ignore a (while admittedly quiet) 900 lb "modem gorilla" named US Robotics.>>>

Dodger --

This board *has* been monitoring USRX. A few months ago Steve Levy at Oppenheimer put out a research report outlining USR's ADSL activities. They're testing TI's DSPs which in turn are using Amati's ADSL. Now how exactly they'll access the technology once they decide to deploy is another issue. Will they deal directly with Amati or strike a deal with TI that involves them indirectly? I don't know how these things work, but I've heard all parties involved are playing hardball. Amati's a small company, but they're like the trainer who's got a young Mohammed Ali who's winning every match he enters. Word's getting out and backers are lining up.

Cheers!
