Meanwhile, Newbridge's share of the world-wide market for high-speed asynchronous transfer mode, or ATM, switches has been showing signs of leveling out over the last several months, while competitor Cisco Systems Inc. has seen its share increase dramatically over the same period. Cisco, which replaced Newbridge as the ATM market leader, has been building up its sales force in this market, and benefits from its ability to offer customers a greater breadth of products than Newbridge now has available.
PR spin, to be sure. NN and ASND are the two leaders in ATM for carriers. Cisco and NT both lag in that space. Cisco does a lot of resale, but if you compare just carriers revs, NN's ahead.
With yet another affiliate being pushed out of the nursery, it's becoming more obvious there's method to Terry's apparent madness.
If this were a dot-to-dot picture, I'd guess the over-all design would be coming into focus.
