I am going to post a plain English analysis that compares three consensus estimates (from three different vendors) as well as estimates from twelve different brokers to the market value of some widely followed companies on my site, to be mirrored on SI. I would consider this irrefutable evidence. If there is significant interest, I will follow it up with a step by step analytical method that anyone can use (with my software of course:-) to reconcile earnings to a more reliable number.

To be honest, it is really not a difficult concept. The more money a company can make, the more it is worth. The problem is most individual investors don't realize that earnings are not synonomous with money. They are a ephemeral construct of accountants - very useful for accounting, practically useless for economic valuation.
