Yes we do. Sadam go bye bye and the very first glimmer of hope for a democratic country right in the middle of the ME has a chance at success and most important the people of Iraq have a chance to live in a free society...that's all very good don't you think so?

lorne, can you post any link where Bush, going into Iraq, said he was going to establish democracy in Iraq. I re read the text of his State of the Union address in 2003. He talked about WMD and the threat it posed to the world community. He said that it is the possession of WMD that was the reason he was ordering the troops into Iraq.

Now, in the face of not finding any WMDs, Bush starts talking about establishing democracy in Iraq, and points to achieving the goal of going into Iraq, he sends a signal that his policy is in disarray. He said he was going in for a reason, then he comes back and says that his actions led to something else. Isn't that a defeat?

We are not in the business of establishing democracy by force in other countries is it? I thought we were in the process of fighting the war on terrorism. Something he should have done with Pakistan more than a year ago. Instead he went into Iraq.
