This election triggered Vietnam era family scenarios. Our son is convinced that U.S. soldiers have lost their lives needlessly in Iraq. His dad & I had to finally agree to disagree with him, and to avoid political discussion in wks leading up to Nov 2. I'm certain it's the classic Churchill analysis..."if a person is not a liberal in his 20s, he has no heart, if that same person is still a liberal after 40yrs old, he has no head." I will be surprised if our freelance-writer son is not a conservative by the time he's 40.

I almost didn't vote for Specter this time, but then decided GW might need another Repub Senator in order to make progress in his 2nd term. The fact that Specter's a moderate helped with my decision. Our federal Rep is a blue-dog Dem. We need more moderates in congress.
